Hebden Bridge, the “Pennine Centre”, is an English town with character. It is one of West Yorkshire’s most interesting towns. Brontës
The Brontës are one of the most famous literary families on the world. Charlotte Brontë wrote Jane Eyre (1847), her sister Emily Brontë wrote Wuthering Heights (1847). Haworth, the village where the Brontës lived, is just 8 miles from Hebden Bridge. Travelling there through the beautiful Yorkshire moorland you can enjoy the scenery which inspired their writing. The Brontë house, built in 1778, has been restored and is now a museum. When visiting the house you can learn of the Brontë family history, lifestyle and outstanding literary achievements.
